How Professional Home Decorators Hang Tapestries

If you just acquired a tapestry wall hanging, you probably recognise how difficult and frustrating it can be to arrange a tapestry weaving fittingly.  Unlike posters or a artwork, tapestry wallhangings can be very troublesome to get just right.  As luck would have it, there are some effective exercised rules that you can observe to make your interior decorating look as fine as it can.

First, consider what accouterments you would like to have to hang your tapestry.  The simplest hanging method is using a decorative wall tapestry rod.  Medieval or modern tapestry rods are preferred to a higher degree curtain rods because the artistic tapestry hanging rods are made thicker and will not buckle under the strain.  When browsing for a rod, look for one that has easy to hang brackets.  Make sure that your brackets will stick out your new wall tapestry out from the wall a bare minimum of 1 to 2 inches.  This will continue the air circulating behind your hanging, so humidity will not be able to get caught and cause mold to grow on the material.  Look around for a wall hanging rod with an antique coating-it will add a dash of flair and elegance to your wall décor.

Second, go over your display area.  Where should you feature the tapestry?  How much space should you leave in the area of the woven wall tapestry?  Here are some general guidelines that may assist you.

If you have a really tall and constricted straight-up tapestry wall hanging similar to our Narrow wall tapestries, you can showcase it on a wall that is tall and narrow, but make sure there is adequate room bordering it to head off your wall from looking tight.  This might impede the tapestry from being meager and inconsequential.

If you have a big wall tapestry hanging, it looks better to showcase it on a wall with nothing else.  You don't want to squeeze the refinement or bewilder a friend's regard with smaller artworks.  Large wall tapestries can refashion your apartment into a castle, so handle them with esteem and courtesy.

Perchance you decided on two smaller tapestries, but own only one rod-don’t worry, you can make this work.  You can place two long and thin tapestries adjacent to each other on a single tapestry rod, just remember to provide for a bare minimum of 3 to 6 inches in between them to get the illusion of space.  Please note that this will only work with tall and thin wall tapestries like our Art Nouveau Series.  Anything exceeding than this will appear cramped and blundering, so try your damnedest to measure everything out correctly.

You may need a uncommon rod if your wall tapestry is really immense and dense or if your wall hanging is unseamed and little.  For immense tapestry wall hangings bigger than 80 to 100 inches, you can think over a wall tapestry rod that is more than one half inch wide.  This will hamper the rod from changing form in the centre.  If you invested in a european wall tapestry of chenille, you might need to look at either a thin rod or a rod made of wood instead of metal.  If the rod is too large in relation to the artistic tapestry hanging, it will definitely look imperious and temporary.
